POSITION: Publicity Intern, Unpaid

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to Creative Director/Owner

LOCATION: Remote from your home

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Duties include:
- Finding/contacting/developing relationships with various media outlets (trade & consumer)
- Creating/maintaining/updating media lists
- Maintaining social media outlets including Facebook and Twitter to promote e-boutique
- Performing social media outreach by social bookmarking, pitching articles to bloggers, and research new partnership opportunities
- Developing interesting story angles and initiating new ideas
- Responding to media requests
- Drafting/sending pitches/press releases/media alerts to various media outlets
- Attend virtual status meeting weekly

PROMOTION: Possibility for the right candidate to become a contract employee.

REQUIREMENTS: This UNPAID internship requires a team player with a great personality and positive “can-do” attitude. Star candidates must be able to work remotely from home, be detail oriented, have strong writing & editing skills, and have an interest in building media contacts. Familiarity and interest in the Internet, social networking and blogs is necessary. Previous PR experience is required along with a strong written and verbal background. Senior student/post-grad preferred. Must have a computer and telephone; fax and Internet capabilities; knowledge of Outlook, MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
