We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Online Editor to join our Prevention Interactive team to lead the Weight Loss channel. Candidates must have experience in interactive editorial/content development focused on diet and weight loss. This position is best suited for an individual dedicated to producing top-quality content, with a talent for managing multiple simultaneous deadlines while working both independently and collaboratively in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the online Senior Editor and Editorial Director on strategic planning, development and growth of the Weight Loss channel
Plan, write promotional copy for, and build modules for the twice weekly update of the Weight Loss channel promotional pages; coordinate image selection with photo editor
Plan, write and produce daily programming for the Weight Loss channel
Brainstorm, write, and produce list template articles and slideshows from wt loss channel content and current Prevention issues on an ongoing basis
Collaborate with the Prevention brand nutrition/wt loss editors (magazine, books, DVDs) regarding cross-platform integration with the Weight Loss channel
Analyze Weight Loss channel metrics weekly and monthly, and track daily performance; react to and apply learnings to all content promotion and creation
Liaise with and manage relationship of weight loss bloggers on site; feed ideas for new topics based on news and audience insights.
Follow diet and weight loss news and trends: incorporate topics (as brand appropriate) into daily/weekly promotional copy
Brainstorm, plan, edit and manage development of weight loss tools and interactive content from concept through launch working closely with designers and producers
Develop weight loss video content and newsletters as required
Plan, write, assign and edit original content for the Weight Loss channel as needed
Review new weight loss products and books; track trends
Follow general trends regarding website usability and site optimization
Required:
Minimum 5 years interactive diet and weight loss editorial experience
Excellent web-writing and editing skills
Vignette 7 CMS experience or similar
SEO and metrics analysis experience
Attention to detail
Organized and deadline-oriented
