The responsibilities of the Media Planner include:
• Working with approved media vendors to plan media campaigns, including: Broadcast Radio and TV (cable and syndicated), Out of Home, Digital/Internet Display, Search, and Emerging Media
• Plan Development - develop media plans and make recommendations which are consistent with the strategy and budgets
• Prepare media recommendations and review with VP

Oversee the preparation, accuracy and timeliness of:

• Developing media plans that specify which forms of media will be used to effectively reach the target audience
• Studying media provided demographic data and consumer profiles to identify desired target audiences for specific media vehicles, including lifestyles and psychographics
• Performing various calculations to identify the usefulness of different media plans
• Assist in converting media plans from approved vendors to Ultra Media formats and proof for accuracy
• Maintain accuracy of planning costs/rates/competitive analysis
• Attend weekly status meetings
• Communicate with production in terms of timetables, space and material deadlines
• Maintain flowcharts/plans
Requirements and qualifications:
• 3+ years of media planning and buying including online/digital programs
• Strong attention to detail necessary to develop and manage media programs
• Strong organizational, analytic skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Bachelors degree required
• Knowledge of all types of media and research
• Understanding of target audience and communication goals (reach/frequency/grps)
• Comfortable working with budgets and numbers – media math
• Demonstrates initiative
• Excellent verbal and written skills

The Director, Sales Planning for the Time Inc Style & Entertainment Digital Group will be responsible for leading inventory strategy and monetization for both premium and non-premium inventory across Time Inc’s Style & Entertainment sites (People.com, EW.com, InStyle.com, Peopleenespanol.com, and Celebrity Baby Blog) to ensure revenue targets are met. This position is a member of the digital management team and reports to the President, Digital Style & Entertainment Group.

The Sales Planning organization is focused on 1) partnering with sales to respond to RFP’s 2) managing and optimizing campaign delivery and performance 3) maintaining pricing strategy and business rules for direct sales efforts. 4) serving as digital media experts within the organization 5) managing of non-premium inventory through relationships with Ad Networks, international partners and others.

The Director, Sales Planning will:
o Oversee sales planning teams at each brand to help ensure individual brand revenue targets are met
o Serve as management liaison with centralized Ad Operations team.
o Set pricing strategies and oversee development of sales tools (rate card, business rules, etc)
o Lead Inventory strategy for the Group and make recommendations for brand level inventory strategy
o Partner with Associate Publisher, Digital Sales to identify cross brand sales initiatives
o Assist in development of sales strategies for each brand.
o Work with Directors of Digital Marketing and Integrated Marketing to manage workflow and process between groups
o Oversee Revenue Optimization Manager in execution of non-premium inventory deals
o Coordinate with editorial teams to determine best practices and standards for new ad formats and placements
o Translate industry trends into ad formats, monetization and ad technology into saleable solutions for sales teams.
o Report key sales planning metrics
o Serve as digital media and product monetization expert within organization

Key Criteria:
o Minimum of 10-15 years overall experience with 6-8 years of related experience.
o Understanding of online ad serving systems, sales strategies and ad monetization models.
o Familiarity with Ad Operation functions and technology. Experience with DFP platform a plus.
o Success designing and implementing successful operational processes.
o Analyzing workflow and data to innovate new ideas and concepts.
o Experience managing large teams and cross functional groups.
o Ability to consume and process large amounts of data and translate it into a concise actionable message.
o Strong organizational skills.
o Superior communication skills for frequent internal and external discussions and project management.

WWD Summits Internship - 2 Interns wanted

Fairchild Summits is the CEO Conference Division of Conde Nast. Summits interns have the opportunity to work with the Marketing Director, Sales Team, Graphic Designer, Event Director and Executive Director of the Fairchild Summits group. Two day minimum required.
