We are seeking a head of online advertising sales for a 10 year-old online media company dedicated to financial investments and investor education.
Responsibilities: The Director of Sales is responsible for the overall coordination, management and leadership of the sales activities of the business.
Achieve targeted revenue goals
In coordination with the website’s General Manager, establish go to market strategies for the Company
Oversee sales staff of 4 on a day-to-day basis, including talent development and training
Establish sales objectives for the sales personnel
Prepare annual sales budgets, and update sales forecasts throughout the year
Sell online ad space to and develop sponsorship deals with accounts located primarily in North America
Manage third-party revenue relationships
Work with the technology group on site layout/changes and how it reflects monetization
Work with ad operations to ensure campaign performance and deliverability is on track
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years’ prior sales experience, including on-line sales and sales management experience
Strong relationships with digital ad agencies; On-line sales experience for finance sites a plus
Strong negotiating skills and capacity
Strong written and verbal communication skills; equally strong listening skills
Goal oriented
Can operate autonomously
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required; MBA a plus
NYC metro area preferred
