This person will be focused on day-to-day execution of the Social Media and Public Relations strategy, and will be a strong advocate for the brand and the community. S\/he will work closely with our Editorial Department.<br \/>\nCore Responsibilities:<br \/>\n\u2022\tOversee day-to-day management of social media presence, including working with Editorial on daily monitoring and posting of content and engaging directly with TONY &#038; Time Out Kids staff<br \/>\n\u2022\tBrainstorm and develop proposals for social media campaigns<br \/>\n\u2022\tManage and monitor branded social media accounts, (i.e. YouTube, Facebook, etc.)<br \/>\n\u2022\tIdentify and report on digital community and social media activities of competitors and also trends across the publishing industry<br \/>\n\u2022\tWork closely with Business Intelligence team to track and evaluate the success of social media integrations and initiatives<br \/>\n\u2022\tWrite press releases to announce company news and promote the magazines\u2019 partnerships to the media<br \/>\n\u2022\tPitch stories to appropriate news outlets and secure weekly interviews for the editorial staff to promote each new issue of the magazines<br \/>\n\u2022\tCoordinate all materials for three weekly network television segments, including procuring b-roll, booking in studio guests, and entertainment<br \/>\n\u2022\tResearch and fact-check all events covered on the magazine\u2019s weekly segments and prepare interview materials for the editorial staff<br \/>\n\u2022\tList and publicize all Time Out New York and Time Out New York Kids events through broadcast, print and online media outlets<br \/>\n\u2022\tMaintain relationships with appropriate contacts at local and national radio, television and newspapers<br \/>\n\u2022\tResponsible for internal press communication<br \/>\nProfessional Requirements:<br \/>\n\u2022\t2-4 years\u2019 experience in public relations (PR) or social media marketing (preferably both)<br \/>\n\u2022\tBachelors Degree (BA) in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or equivalent<br \/>\n\u2022\tExperience with social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter in a professional capacity; understanding of Internet technologies<br \/>\n\u2022\tExcellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills<br \/>\n\u2022\tMust be passionate about position and brand, and value a collaborative environment<br \/>\n\u2022\tMust be self-motivated, ambitious and demonstrate the ability to flourish in a fast-paced environment.<br \/>\n\u2022\tPossess superior time management and organizational skills<br \/>\n\u2022\tMust have solid editorial judgment<br \/>\n\u2022\tExperience with Microsoft and MAC computer programs, including Excel<\/p>\n<p>How to Apply:<br \/>\nInterested applicants should forward cover letter, resume, PR writing samples, AND *salary requirements to hr@timeoutny.com.
