EVENT MANAGER, Fast Company, the most progressive, creative, and innovative business media brand, which was recently named to AdWeek\u2019s \u201cHot List\u201d for the third year in a row, seeks an intelligent, dynamic and energetic Event Manager to help with all aspects of planning and executing Fast Company franchise events. The position reports to the Events Marketing Director.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
\nSourcing event venues, negotiating contracts, logistical planning, tracking and reporting results;
\nOwning execution of events, including logistics, PR, budgeting and all other related activities;
\nWorking internally with Fast Company sales reps on added value event execution;
\nBrainstorming with marketing team to conceptualize new event ideas\/extensions for potential sponsors;
\nSetting up and managing online event registration system for gate model events;
\nHelping to write and edit marketing copy for print ads, websites, emails and onsite collateral;
\nPreparing all materials to be distributed during events [i.e., name tags, binder tags, place cards, signage, registration forms, etc.];
\nManage vendor relationships and venue properties to minimize costs and ensure expenses are competitive and fair. Work with vendors to provide cost-cutting solutions including rental options, smaller-scale participation and sponsorship opportunities; <\/p>\n
Job Requirements include:
\nAt least four years event planning experience, preferably for a media brand;
\nEntrepreneurial spirit with a passion for marketing;
\nCreative and self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to plan, organize and execute projects which require careful attention to detail, strong oral and written communication skills [proposal writing a plus], effective interpersonal skills and knowledge of conference and event management;
\nAble to work well in a fast-paced team environment and present a professional demeanor;
\nProficient with Microsoft Office products. Experience with Dreamweaver and Photoshop are pluses. <\/p>\n
