This<br \/>\nperson will be focused on day-to-day execution of the Social Media and<br \/>\nPublic Relations strategy, and will be a strong advocate for the brand<br \/>\nand the community. S\/he will work closely with our Editorial Department.<\/p>\n<p>Core Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Oversee day-to-day management of social media presence, including<br \/>\nworking with Editorial on daily monitoring and posting of content and<br \/>\nengaging directly with TONY &#038; Time Out Kids staff<br \/>\n\u2022 Brainstorm and develop proposals for social media campaigns<br \/>\n\u2022 Manage and monitor branded social media accounts, (i.e. YouTube,<br \/>\nFacebook, etc.)<br \/>\n\u2022 Identify and report on digital community and social media activities<br \/>\nof competitors and also trends across the publishing industry<br \/>\n\u2022 Work closely with Business Intelligence team to track and evaluate<br \/>\nthe success of social media integrations and initiatives<br \/>\n\u2022 Write press releases to announce company news and promote the<br \/>\nmagazines\u2019 partnerships to the media<br \/>\n\u2022 Pitch stories to appropriate news outlets and secure weekly<br \/>\ninterviews for the editorial staff to promote each new issue of the<br \/>\nmagazines<br \/>\n\u2022 Coordinate all materials for three weekly network television<br \/>\nsegments, including procuring b-roll, booking in studio guests, and<br \/>\nentertainment<br \/>\n\u2022 Research and fact-check all events covered on the magazine\u2019s weekly<br \/>\nsegments and prepare interview materials for the editorial staff<br \/>\n\u2022 List and publicize all Time Out New York and Time Out New York Kids<br \/>\nevents through broadcast, print and online media outlets<br \/>\n\u2022 Maintain relationships with appropriate contacts at local and<br \/>\nnational radio, television and newspapers<br \/>\n\u2022 Responsible for internal press communication<\/p>\n<p>Professional Requirements:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 2-4 years\u2019 experience in public relations (PR) or social media<br \/>\nmarketing (preferably both)<br \/>\n\u2022 Bachelors Degree (BA) in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing<br \/>\nor equivalent<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter<br \/>\nin a professional capacity; understanding of Internet technologies<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Must be passionate about position and brand, and value a<br \/>\ncollaborative environment<br \/>\n\u2022 Must be self-motivated, ambitious and demonstrate the ability to<br \/>\nflourish in a fast-paced environment.<br \/>\n\u2022 Possess superior time management and organizational skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Must have solid editorial judgment<br \/>\n\u2022 Experience with Microsoft and MAC computer programs, including Excel<\/p>\n<p>How to Apply:<\/p>\n<p>Interested applicants should forward cover letter, resume, PR writing<br \/>\nsamples, AND *salary requirements to hr@timeoutny.com.
