Job Description:
\n\u2022\tPerform in-depth and timely fact-checking of magazine content. Responsible for ensuring accuracy from approved edit of manuscript through the final proof stage.
\n\u2022\tRecruit, schedule, and supervise freelance fact-checkers as needed
\n\u2022\tWork closely with story editors, copy editors, designers, and legal department to provide correct and clear solutions to any fact problems
\n\u2022\tCheck that illustrations and captions are correct
\n\u2022\tMaintain standards and procedures guide
\n\u2022\t Process invoices
\nRequired Experience:
\n\u2022\tExcellent journalistic judgment and attention to detail and accuracy
\n\u2022\tAble to prioritize and manage various simultaneous assignments while maintaining high quality work within a fast-paced, high-pressure, high-volume, multitasking, deadline-driven environment
\n\u2022\tPossess strong interviewing, oral and written communication skills
\n\u2022\tPossess impeccable analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
\n\u2022\tCandidate must have experience dealing with legally sensitive and controversial content
\n\u2022\tAbility to work well with others and communicate effectively
\n\u2022\tFlexibility and adaptable to change; positive attitude
\n\u2022\tInquisitive\/critical thinker who is graciously persistent with staff and sources.
\n\u2022\tKnowledge of fact-checking procedures and acceptable sources
\n\u2022\tWorking knowledge of InCopy, InDesign and K4 desired
