Reader’s Digest has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Advertising Sales Executive<\/p>\n

to sell advertising and integrated media packages for The Family Handyman, our newest<\/p>\n

launch Fresh Home, and several other titles in our home and garden portfolio.<\/p>\n

We seek a highly energetic and strategically motivated individual that is goal oriented and<\/p>\n

willing to go the extra mile to achieve both individual and team goals.\u00a0 The successful<\/p>\n

candidate will be a strong conceptual seller, able to put together strategic and integrated<\/p>\n

programs for their clients’ success.\u00a0 Additionally will be responsible to:<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Grow and manage a diversified account list to meet revenue goals.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Manage an account list and sell advertising space while breaking new accounts<\/p>\n

across categories.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Cultivate and maintain relationships to gain business, increase existing business and<\/p>\n

break non-running business.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Develop and manage sales territory through personal calls, correspondence,<\/p>\n

telephone contact, support services, and client entertainment.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Leverage knowledge of category and marketplace to respond to advertiser\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Incorporate research and promotion effectively to individualize sales proposals and<\/p>\n

presentations.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Provide regular reporting and forecasting on accounts to New York leadership.<\/p>\n

\n

In addition to being detail-oriented and well organized, the ideal candidate will possess<\/p>\n

excellent presentation skills, be able to juggle a complex mix of print, supplements and<\/p>\n

online products, as well as develop and maintain a strong rapport with clients.\u00a0 Advertising<\/p>\n

categories include a diversified list of:\u00a0 shelter, building materials, men\u2019s and others.<\/p>\n

Required Skills:<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>College degree desired and a minimum of 2-3 years selling advertising space for<\/p>\n

consumer magazines.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Must be conscientious and organized to handle diversified account list spanning a<\/p>\n

variety of ad categories.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Must have strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication<\/p>\n

skills including the ability to make presentations and deal with all levels of<\/p>\n

management.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Should have proven selling and negotiation skills and the ability to execute complex<\/p>\n

sales strategies with creativity and innovation.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Seeking strategically motivated team player.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Some travel required.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Should have a working knowledge of syndicated research and dealing with ad<\/p>\n

agencies.<\/p>\n

\u2022<\/span> <\/span>Must be proficient in Word, Excel and Lotus Notes computer programs.<\/p>\n
