The position works cross-functionally across multiple departments in the company including sales, editorial, audience development and public relations. <\/p>\n<p>To be a successful member of the Texas Monthly marketing team, the candidate must be a highly organized, self-directed event marketing professional with strong hands-on experience planning and executing events in a variety of formats. <\/p>\n<p>Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<br \/>\n\u2022\tManage and execute Texas Monthly\u2019s signature events including but not limited toTMBBQ franchise  programs including TMBBQ Fest, Behind the Pit Dinners, Road Trips, and TMBBQ Pop-Ups<br \/>\n\u2022\tWork with the creative services department on the creation of event-related sales materials and creative elements (i.e. sponsorship packages, sales sheets, email blasts, banner ads, social media creative, on-site collateral)<br \/>\n\u2022\tCollaborate with sales reps to identify prospective sponsors, attend client\/agency calls and meetings with sales staff to present  event and sponsorship opportunities<br \/>\n\u2022\tManage and reconcile event budgets<br \/>\n\u2022\tManage vendor relationships; negotiate rates<br \/>\n\u2022\tEstablish production and promotional timelines; ensure all deadlines are met<br \/>\n\u2022\tWork closely with internal business or audience development teams to establish, meet and measure the marketing and business objectives of events<br \/>\n\u2022\tCoordinate creative brainstorms across departments to concept opportunistic custom events <\/p>\n<p>Successful candidate will possess the following skills\/abilities:<br \/>\n\u2022\tSuperior organizational and time management skills<br \/>\n\u2022\tExcellent verbal and written communication skills<br \/>\n\u2022\tAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines<br \/>\n\u2022\tStrong relationship building\/networking skills<br \/>\n\u2022\tStrong negotiation skills<br \/>\n\u2022\tAbility to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot during planning process and on-site at events<br \/>\n\u2022\tStrong creative skills and ability to develop compelling revenue driven programs<\/p>\n<p>Required Qualifications:<br \/>\n\u2022\tBachelor\u2019s Degree<br \/>\n\u2022\tMinimum 4  years event planning and execution experience required<br \/>\n\u2022\tExcellent written and verbal communication skills<br \/>\n\u2022\tFluent in Microsoft Office applications<br \/>\n\u2022\tEstablished relationships with statewide event venues and vendors preferred<\/p>\n<p>Travel:<br \/>\nSome overnight travel and evening and weekend event management required<\/p>\n<p>Application Process:<br \/>\nIf you are a qualified candidate and interested in this position we encourage you to apply.
