SEO Specialist (Contract role) – Time Inc. Lifestyle Digital Group June 15, 2011
Time Inc. Lifestyle Digital is looking for a contract SEO Specialist to join our audience development team to assist in implementing technology and the education of our editorial groups. This role will also work closely with an SEO agency that will play a key role in our SEO strategy.
This position will lead SEO efforts across the ten Time Inc. lifestyle sites including RealSimple.com, CookingLight.com, MyRecipes.com, AllYou.com, Thisoldhouse.com, Health.com, and SouthernLiving.com. The focus of this role will be to work with teams to create and drive strategic SEO initiatives and be ultimately responsible for increasing natural search engine referrals.
Time Inc. Lifestyle sites have been growing rapidly and now reach over 15 million unique visitors each month, up 50% from a year ago (Comscore). SEO has been a key to this growth and continues to be a top business priority at all ten sites..
The SEO specialist will be the primary contact with our best-in-class consulting company and will work in a leadership capacity regarding all things SEO with multiple internal teams including digital marketing, analytics, editorial, production and IT.
Responsibilities:
Create long and short-term SEO strategic initiatives per site
Manage, motivate, and direct editorial and product teams on SEO initiatives
Work with technology teams on SEO enhancements
Build site-specific link-building strategies for landing pages
Brainstorm SEO-rich content creation and content programming
Identify issues and areas of opportunity at a site, landing page and keyword level
Keyword research, on-page SEO and conversion optimization for individual pages and templated landing pages
Work with and learn from outside SEO vendor on strategy, training, best practices, and technical releases
Qualifications:
3-5+ years relevant SEO experience
Proven ability to increase search engine referrals on a large-scale website, preferably multiple sites at one time in a SEO leadership role.
Able to successfully organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Solid understanding and interest in content best practices, technical SEO best practices, ranking algorithms and user experience.
Experience working with branded content/media companies a plus
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Knowledge of Omniture web analytics a plus
