Job Summary:
Provide research support for RFPs and daily requests for advertising sales and marketing teams at Meredith. Key research contact for select magazine brands. Responsible for retrieving and analyzing syndicated data for the purpose of advertising sales and magazine-specific selling efforts with a focus on telling the story rather than a reporting of numbers. Accountable for developing title specific syndicated release overviews (MRI, MMR, MARS, etc) as well as GfK MRI Starch monthly report analysis. Conduct competitive review and analysis of key advertising growth categories and dissemination of category and market information. Perfect growth opportunity to learn syndicated digital research tools as well. Maintain research vendor relationships and facilitate internal communication regarding new product enhancements, methodology changes and other pertinent information.
Essential Job Functions:
50% – Address and respond to business operational needs (daily requests, RFPs, marketing/sales mgmt updates, etc); consistently evaluate current resources, systems and processes to help identify barriers to efficient completion of work; recommend and execute solutions to address needs
30% – Maximize internal partnerships; develop relationships with key sales contact to share challenges and develop appropriate solutions; share relevant news and information at weekly sales meetings; proactively follow up with seller after RFP or negotiation process to determine what worked and where additional information is needed
10% – Analyze shifts and trends in competitive media environment; Monitor changes, trends and news in key competitive set
10% – Work with Research Director on specific projects for corporate business groups as it relates to monthly share of market reporting, quarterly sale reviews, investor relations, etc; lend support for larger macro research initiatives

Experience:
To qualify must have 5-8 years media experience **Professional/technical expertise
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent command of syndicated media research resources (MRI, MARS, MMR, PIB, etc) to support the sales efforts for assigned magazine. **As the primary syndicated contact for magazine brand, the senior research manager is responsible for supporting marketing and sales team with research data across resources (i.e. Hall’s Reports, MRI Starch, etc). **Individual will act as magazine liaison with Brand Strategy group. **Strong oral and written communication skills a must.**Must be organized and detailed oriented as well.**Proficiency with GfK MRI Starch print advertising accountability tool a plus. **Working knowledge of online syndicated research tools (Omniture, comscore, @plan) a plus as well**Fluent with: MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), New Age, PIB and ABC.
