Job Summary: The Senior Promotion Manager will work closely with the Strategic Marketing Director to develop and execute integrated and added value programs for the magazine’s advertisers. The Senior Promotion Manager will work with internal departments including the FC sales team, Interactive, editorial, database, research, circulation and other marketing departments. This position also collaborates with designers to develop advertorials, comps, sell sheets and event collateral materials. The role requires strong writing and proofreading skills, creative thinking and the ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines and lead projects with internal and external clients.
Essential Job Functions
45% – Responsible for writing merchandising and integrated proposals for the Family Circle brand. Also includes researching added value opportunities, developing marketing partnerships, creating comps and collaborating with other Meredith departments (digital, broadcast, database, other print titles etc.)
40% – Execute and manage integrated and added value programs including custom advertiser promotions and signature programs that may include advertorial, event, digital, broadcast and mobile platforms. Position requires strong copywriting skills.
10% – Develop communication pieces (sell sheets, e-mail blasts, client mailings, presentations etc.) promoting Family Circle’s marketing capabilities.
5% – Research and develop strategic marketing partnerships for long term brand growth. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:
All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum of five years related experience plus two years experience as a manager in the publishing or advertising field.
Must possess at least three years experience in creation and execution of marketing programs with a strong emphasis on food, health, home and beauty categories.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must possess excellent interpersonal and follow-through skills.
Must possess strong copywriting skills.
Knowledge of media/magazine marketing.
Strong strategic thinking and resourcefulness required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Basic knowledge of interactive and social media.
Knowledge of syndicated research (MRI/SMRG, PIB, ABC) preferred. Employment Status: Full Time
