Position Title: Marketing Manager, Home & Garden Media Group

Location: New York City, New York

Job Description
The ideal candidate will work effectively with our nationwide advertising sales staff to find solutions-based ways to grow brand recognition and revenue among advertisers. The ideal candidate will also have a working knowledge of the shelter and/or men’s category and experience with traditional, digital and event marketing platforms.

• Idea generation and proposal writing for a variety of categories
• Conceive and develop new programs and partnerships
• Coordinate and execute special projects, events and promotions in a timely and detailed manner
• Develop sell sheets and sales collateral to effectively communicate program concept, benefits and requirements
• Work with members of the RDA US Affinities to explore cross-media advertising opportunities with other RDA properties
• Participate in sales calls to bring programs and ideas to life for advertisers
• Maintain marketing tools and status reports
• Implement and oversee junior staff members with regard to proposal creation and program details and execution

Qualifications:
• Creative writer with ability to correct, rewrite and revise one’s own work and the work of others to create a compelling and persuasive final product
• Strong editing skills
• Keen attention to detail
• Extremely comfortable in a deadline oriented role
• Ability to effectively communicate with the sales team and clients, as well as with managers and colleagues
• Familiarity and use of research (MRI, VISTA, etc), partnerships, promotions and more to effectively engage advertisers in a particular category
• Team player with a “can-do” attitude
• Strategic thinker with both energy and passion for the brand
• Ability to work effectively with sales, marketing, clients, art, corporate and vendors in a collaborative way
• Requires 3-5 years of magazine marketing or agency experience, knowledge of print research (MRI, MMR, etc.)
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and the Internet.
• Candidates must have a balance of strategic and creative ability, strong interpersonal skills and a track record of formulating and implementing idea-selling initiatives.
• Some travel and evening work required.
