Job Description:
Freelance Designer for Marketing and Ad Sales Department of a major magazine publisher.

Experience:
A senior level designer with 5-7 years experience working in publishing, excellent command
of Adobe Creative Suite, PowerPoint, and QuarkXpress. Flash, Dreamweaver, AfterEffects, HTML and CSS are all a major plus.

Qualities:
A strong multi-tasker, and excellent communicator that handles a large volume of projects and details in fast pace environment. (Requires self-motivated designer who can manage multiple projects and tight deadlines on multiple brands).
Highly organized. Detail oriented. Solution oriented. Positive attitude critical.
A team player who takes direction well and strives to contribute to the department’s overall success.
Pleasant personality and people skills a MUST in highly professional environment.

Responsibilities:
Design and oversee production of marketing and event collateral (advertorials, email blasts, microsites, invitations, signage, brochures, high-impact units, event collateral, etc.).
Create client-customized presentations in InDesign for PowerPoint output.
Buying art, preparing mechanicals, flight checking files, making proofs, releasing files, and communicating with vendors through project completion.
Making comps of projects for client presentations—must be able to use an exacto blade with out drawing blood.
