Sr. Analyst Position

The role of the BRI Manager is two-fold:

Marketing/Sales Support-Research Partner

Your daily responsibility will be to:
§ Provide our Network Marketing and Sales Teams with the best Brand sales story possible to help them go out into the market and sell ad pages.
§ You will be responsible for knowing and using a variety of syndicated research sources to keep our Brands ahead of the curve and differentiated from the competitive set.
§ Providing proof of the value of print, the power of our brands and the richness of our readers. The research sources utilized and the stories created are ever-changing and specific to the title, advertiser, target and category.
§ We’re looking for a creative thinker with a sense of curiosity and flair for solving challenging questions and situations with innovative thinking and new strategic ways to position our brands
§ Additionally, our responsibility is to function as advocates debunking marketplace misperceptions about magazine engagement and magazine advertising effectiveness

Category Experts. As a category expert your responsibility is to:
§ Identify and inform the company of industry trends and insights that may provide revenue generating and content opportunities. This entails proactively keeping up on new media trends, product introductions, ad campaigns, so that Time Inc.’s sales reps informed with up to the moment category news.
§ Responsible for preparing written quarterly industry updates and/or newsletters, yearly category overviews, media analyses and category ad spend forecasts.

Do you have what it takes?
· The person who will excel in this position will need to be able to see the forest through the trees to solve for the bigger picture.
· We are looking for a dynamic individual that is both right and left brained. Must be equally marketing savvy and analytical.
· Must have excellent written and presentation skills and the ability to form and communicate insights either in person or in written documents in a knowledgeable/confident manner, as this position is called upon by Publishers, Marketing and Sales for their expertise, opinion and guidance.
§ This position requires the ability to turn a variety of syndicated data/numbers into well written, easily understandable facts with informed insights and/or brand selling strategies to be shared with Publishers, Marketing, Sales, and External Clients.
§ Must exercise common sense and judgment to determine how best to deliver Client requests for information in an efficient manner (Email, PowerPoint, Bullet Points).
§ Need to be forward thinking and not only provide the specific answers to specific questions but, be able to think ahead and provide answers to questions that may arise from the request.
§ Must be very comfortable working with numbers.
· Must be familiar with Media: The various roles of Media, Media Syndicated Data such as: MRI, MMR, Starch, AdMeasure, Iconoculture, Forrester, etc.), and the Media Industry in General including New Media platforms.

Previous Work Experience: Minimum 4 years experience in Media Planning, Advertising Account Management, Marketing, Research

Education: Bachelor Degree

Technical Skills: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
