Responsibilities:

The internship provides hands-on training in the field of motion picture marketing and publicity.  This entails maintaining a relationship with college press, informing them of release information and advance screenings, setting promotions with college radio and print outlets (often with ticket giveaways), remain aware of events on campus where ticket giveaways or poster displays may be appropriate, planning advance screenings on campus for specific titles, keeping track of all features and/or reviews printed by your college newspapers, researching target audiences, assisting at preview screenings, working on publicity and promotional stunts, working with partners at film promotional events, creating monthly calendars of events, and assisting in various special projects where applicable.  Interns will also be responsible for clerical duties and will sometimes be asked to help out with NY movie premieres, press days and junkets. This internship is paid and is a full year position (Fall 2010- May 2011).

Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in Columbia University and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Sophomore/Junior/Senior status.

Knowledge of the Manhattan area and Columbia University publications and media outlets.
