Promotion Director, O, The Oprah Magazine May 3, 2011
Reports to the Executive Marketing Director, and is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the promotion team. Ideal candidate must be highly proactive and solution-oriented; a team player and self-starter who is also extremely innovative and resourceful.
Responsibilities:
- Develop sales, marketing and promotional strategies/tactics to increase advertiser revenue in conjunction with the Executive Marketing Director and Associate Publisher/ Marketing.
- Conceptualize and develop umbrella programs in support of advertising revenue based on specific category/issue objectives.
- Supervise the development and execution of standard and custom merchandising programs including advertorials/impact units, consumer events, digital/social, etc. Oversee their successful implementation from development of selling materials through project execution
- Supervise sponsorship opportunities/execution for annual signature events.
- Supervise the creative development, packaging and execution of standard and custom promotion materials including fact sheets, presentations, etc.
- Accompany sales team on calls.
- Manage the performance of 4 direct reports and interns.
- Manage merchandising budget.
Require Skills:
- Strong creative skills and extensive experience in developing compelling integrated marketing programs; strong copywriting skills a must.
- Strong presentation skills (verbal, written)
- Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
Required Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 5 years marketing experience in magazines, media, digital or promotion management.
