Position: Marketing Manager – Temporary Assignment

Location: New York

We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter to step into an integral position of our marketing team.

The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to working directly with 2-3 integrated account managers on a variety of accounts, and will be responsible for developing, managing and executing multi-platform proposal requests and custom programs, with a particular emphasis on integrated event sponsorships. This position will report directly to the Vice President, Marketing.

Responsibilities:

· Act as sales development lead for 2-3 Account Managers;

· Lead in response to print and digital RFPs, including the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and Excel media plans;

· Conceptualize creative integrated marketing solutions that may include but not be limited to print, digital, social, promotional and/or research components;

· Write compelling, well-thought-out proposals for a broad variety of advertisers that effectively communicate program concepts and requirements – and deliver on client objectives;

· Attend client sales calls to present integrated marketing programs when needed;

· Execute programs once they are activated, ensuring the client’s brand, the Newsweek Daily Beast brand and the program are properly represented;

· Work with Vice President, Marketing to develop strategic partnerships with both internal departments, vendors, and third-party organizations to enhance our arsenal of integrated marketing solutions;

· Assist with developing and communicating the team’s merchandising/added value assets;

· Assist Vice President, Marketing and Sponsorship Sales Director with selling and executing event sponsorships for Newsweek Daily Beast salon events and “Women in the World” and “Think Festival” summits;

· Other responsibilities, as assigned.

Requirements:

· Minimum 5 years’ marketing experience, preferably in media/advertising, with a strong familiarity and/or command of the digital space;

· Must be resourceful, proactive, and detail-oriented with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;

· Must be a true team player who is also able to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment;

· Demonstrated ability with conceptualizing and executing excellent media programs and first-to-market solutions;

· Strong written, verbal and organizational skills;

· Computer proficiency required, including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel;

· Event experience a plus, but not required;

· Bachelor’s degree preferred.
