Integrated Marketing Director
(Position is based in the JPC Chicago office)

Primary Responsibility

Develop advertising category and project-specific initiatives, including but not limited to: advertorials, consumer events, merchandising, promotional programs as well as online and social media efforts for EBONY and JET.

· Develop effective and creative ways to promote brand awareness and help grow our client’s business

· Develop and maintain marketing materials, promotions and programs for advertising categories as well as manage a selection of the magazines’ core branded marketing platforms and programs

· Combine creative “big” idea/platform creation and presentation skills in an effort to leverage the EBONY/JET brands as a vital media partner across multiple platforms

· Write project and creative briefs and then provide clear and concise direction to the creative services team

· Interpret syndicated and qualitative research and apply consumer insights to proposals and presentations (MRI, Mars, Halls, Starch, NetRatings, GoogleWorks, JD Power, etc.)

· Project and RFP/RFI management – Manage the daily workflow process including the prioritizing of presentations and follow-up on all materials delivered to sales partners

· Idea generation and program development – Develop marketing materials for print, digital, event, retail, social media to maximize advertising partnerships

· Category development – develop specific strategies for key advertising categories

· Primary contact for the sales staff in the Chicago and Los Angeles offices

· Presentation development and execution – Advise various departments (e.g., Research, Digital, Creative Services and Events) on the creation of compelling proposals, presentations and sell sheets)

· Client Meetings – Accompany sales reps and/or marketing management on sales calls to present marketing platforms and client-specific opportunities

· Program Management – Manage the fulfillment and execution of proposed sold concepts including advertorials, sweepstakes, contests, promotions, events, digital components, etc.

· Pitch digital/social media campaigns & tactics to internal teams when there is an appropriate fit and said program aligns with a client’s goals.

· Must have prior experience managing and inspiring a team

· Analyze and implement syndicated (MRI, Mars, Halls, Starch, NetRatings, GoogleWorks, JD Power, etc) and proprietary research (Subscriber Studies and Reader Panels) as well as provide SWOT and Competitive Analysis for presentations and RFPs

· Position reports to the Vice President, Marketing Media

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

· Ideal candidate has 7-10 years of advertising or marketing experience

· Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in at least two of four integrated skills

· Print

· Digital

· Mobile or Social Media

· Promotions, Events, Sponsorships

· Worked at a major media company, advertising agency or held a marketing role at a company in fast paced work environment

· Must be inquisitive and posses a problem-solving, can do spirit

· Extremely proactive

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· Must have worked at a multicultural title, worked on a multicultural marketing assignment or demonstrates a great passion for Johnson Publishing Company brands

· Team oriented, high energy and enthusiastic contributor with respect for corporate DNA
