Job Description:
The ideal candidate will be able to work with our nationwide advertising sales staff to attract, maintain and increase advertising revenue across a variety of categories. This position will also be responsible for the execution of multi-advertiser added-value programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Food and Entertaining and be interested in gaining both traditional and digital marketing experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Idea generation and proposal writing for assigned categories
- Create added-value programs for assigned categories (seasonal promotions, research, events, in-store offerings, etc.)
- Oversee fulfillment of merchandising and promotions for assigned categories in a detailed manner
- Participation in sales calls to bring programs and ideas to life for advertisers
- Manage execution of multi-advertiser programs as assigned
- Create or manage creation of wrap-up documents for assigned clients and programs
- Prepare and work within established budget guidelines and manage costs for all projects
- Act as brand ambassador within Marketing department (and externally as needed)
Qualifications:
- Creative writer with ability to correct, rewrite and revise one’s own work and the work of others to create a compelling and persuasive final product
- Keen attention to detail
- Extremely comfortable in a deadline oriented role
- Ability to effectively communicate with the sales team and clients, as well as with managers and colleagues
- Familiarity and use of research (MRI, VISTA, etc), partnerships, promotions and more to effectively engage advertisers in a particular category
- Team player with a “can-do” attitude
- Strategic thinker with both energy and passion for the brand
- Ability to work effectively with sales, marketing, clients, art, corporate, and vendors in a collaborative way
- Requires 5+ years of magazine marketing or agency experience
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and the Internet.
- Candidates must have a balance of strategic and creative ability, strong interpersonal skills and experience formulating and implementing idea-selling initiatives.
- Some travel and flexible schedule required.
