The role:

The senior marketing manager will join a small but fast-paced marketing team with a scrappy attitude and a love for the creative process. He/she will play an integral role in developing and executing attention-getting marketing strategies, promotions, and programs for both sites. The position offers deep immersion in the digital space and combines brand marketing, core big idea/platform creation, proposal writing, and program execution. The position will report to the Associate Publisher of Marketing.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop innovative, market-leading ideas and write proposals for current and prospective advertisers
  • Proactively identify new, multi-platform revenue-generating opportunities that could include online, social media, mobile, app, print and emerging media elements, with a focus on digital that leverage editorial, custom content and external partnership opportunities
  • Successfully manage digitally-based programs that could include rich media, original video content, webinars, mobile, social media and print components from activation to recap
  • Create and manage program timelines and budgets
  • Manage all social media for marketing initiatives including scheduling, trafficking, client approvals and writing copy

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate Include:

  • Knowledge of and passion for digital media space
  • Outstanding communication skills with a creative flair to bring fresh ideas into product positioning and marketing campaigns.
  • A self-starter who instinctively takes ownership of a project, detail oriented with the proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • 3+ years experience (2+ in the digital space)
  • Experience in online campaign management a plus
  • Graphic design and web design (basic HTML) skills and some familiarity with relevant design software a plus (PhotoShop, DreamWeaver or InDesign, etc)
  • Outstanding record of academic and professional achievement
  • Bachelor’s degree
