Summary of Position:

The Strategic Accounts Manager will be responsible for growing major advertising client and agency relationships within Kontera.   The desired candidate will be well established selling online media to brands the CPG, Tech and Finance verticals as well as within the NYC agency community. Must be experienced in strategic account and consultative selling, and be knowledgeable in online media and underlying technology. Must be comfortable selling to all levels within the Agency and client.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Meet or Exceed quarterly revenue targets
  • Grow Kontera’s presence and increase market penetration within the specified verticals
  • Evangelize Kontera and communicate the value of semantic based advertising
  • Communicate emerging market needs and requirements for product development
  • Drive Marketing and Sales support activities in the vertical
  • Engage agency decision makers at all levels
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans
  • Plan, prepare and execute high impact meetings with prospects and clients
  • Develop and close significant business opportunities including annual agreements
  • Develop a strong understanding of marketing objectives and opportunities in the clients business.
  • Accurately forecast revenue growth
  • Execute in a fast paced, “make-it-happen yourself” small team environment

Requirements:

  • 7-8 years experience in senior online media sales
  • 5 years of sales experience calling on agencies and clients at a senior level
  • Sold and managed at least $1 million dollars in annual online advertising spend
  • In-depth knowledge and contacts with top online advertisers with a deep rolodex in related digital Agencies
  • Strong understanding of online branding and performance campaign models, media industry trends, technologies and pricing models
  • Strong knowledge of ad campaign metrics and analysis for branding and performance
  • Excellent understanding of agency dynamics and in campaign buying and planning
  • Superior Strategic and Solution Selling skills in all facets of the sales cycle and account management
  • Excellent communication, presentation and sales skills with proven success in consultative selling
  • Proven record of strategic development of Fortune 500 client base
  • Proactive, driven, self-thinker who strives for results while contributing to the team
