Special Events Manager – Men’s Health March 8, 2012
Men’s Health is looking for a strategic, results-oriented event professional to work in our high energy New York-based Marketing Department. Candidate must have a proven track record of success, a commitment to driving revenue and the ability to maximize event opportunities to achieve brand goals. He or she must have a wide range of corporate and industry contacts and be passionate about working on a multi-platform brand.
As an integral member of the marketing team, the Special Events Manager will be responsible for all project management and execution of Men’s Health event activity including but not limited to signature events, client entertaining and sales meetings. He or she will also serve as an event resource and support for all merchandising events.
Key Responsibilities Include:
· Manage and maintain the overall look and feel of Men’s Health events and programs · Contribute to developing both single and multi-advertiser event opportunities · Establish, manage and maintain event budgets · Creation of event recaps/success stories for clients and sales force · Create general proposals for signature events that may be customized by marketing/merchandising managers · Attend client meetings as needed to present proposals and/or discuss event concepts and requirements · Develop third party relationships to contribute to overall Marketing Department asset offerings · Manage annual events calendar
The ideal candidate will possess:
· College degree required · A minimum of 4-5 years industry or related experience · Proven ability to identify, develop and execute results-oriented programs · Strong written and verbal communication skills · Polished presentation skills · Awareness of current culture and trends as they relates to the brand and marketing/promotional opportunities that fit with the brand · Detail-oriented, organized and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
