The Senior Director of Product Marketing leads a dynamic, cross-functional marketing team focused on building an innovative, integrated marketing product strategy for WebMD.

The right candidate is confident and capable of juggling several balls on a regular basis while working independently, strategically and creatively. As a Senior Director of Product Marketing you bring the ability to mentor, manage and motivate product marketing team members. You have the ability to effectively win pitches and gain sales confidence as a leader who can be relied upon to manage and translate client success through leveraging the power of WebMD’s platform and audience.

You will be responsible for developing and owning the business and sales product portfolio that drives WebMD’s sales growth.  You will establish the baseline business metrics and the growth targets and then manage to them through working collaboratively with existing business and production work flow with centralized services such as editorial, graphics, production, technology, sales and marketing.

Above all else you will be accountable for developing the plans, securing the vision and missions, defining the marketplaces, implementing the plans and growing the businesses from an agreed upon baseline. You will deliver competitive sales products – packaging, positioning and pricing – in response to emerging industry needs and tied to yearly sales goals across Bio-Pharma, Medical Device and Consumer Package Goods.

Your interactions with WebMD’s customers, ongoing understanding of competitive landscape, and understanding and application of audience and site analytics will define the strategy for you and members of your team. Your skill at successfully managing across a cross-functional team including editorial, engineering, product development, sales operations, sales and print teams will be key.

Online marketing experience and understanding of the digital landscape are a must. The candidate must also have solid management experience and come in ready to lead and contribute to a seasoned online marketing team.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor, leader and manager of Product Marketing team
  • Deliver the business plan, strategy, forecasting,  pricing and positioning of WebMD’s highly differentiated, online advertising media product solutions
  • Define and implement a product roadmap that delivers on the yearly forecasted sales and revenue plan
  • Provide ongoing leadership in evaluating product sales performance/impact to deliver monthly insights, trends and recommendations to management team
  • Oversee the creation of marketing requirement documents to initiate new product releases which will be sourced to develop a PRD by product development and engineering
  • Collaborate with product development through initial launch and follow-on releases
  • Interact with early adopter clients/agencies and internal teams to define market requirements
  • Provide actionable guidance to product development and engineering with clear prioritization of development efforts
  • Develop product sales materials such as client-facing  positioning, sales tools, case studies and competitive analyses
  • Create and deliver sales training for the  sales force and support teams

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or equivalent related field
  • Overall Experience: 7 years or equivalent experience in online and product marketing
  • Proven success in launching new online products to market that impact sales growth
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive and self-sufficient with the ability to motivate and drive a team of intelligent, creative, and opinionated colleagues
  • Knowledge and/or background in Internet technologies and Media
