Harper’s Bazaar seeks a Senior Merchandising Manager (or Associate Director) who will be responsible for the strategy, development and activation of integrated marketing and added-value programs across multiple categories. ?Based on category assignments, the Senior Merchandising Manager will collaborate with both the print and online sales teams to create promotions and programs spanning all platforms–including but not limited to: custom creative concepts, in-book promotions, events, digital integrations, social media extensions, and more.
The Senior Manager or Associate Director will:
· Strategize, create, and write integrated marketing proposals for select accounts
· Conceptualize and develop advertiser-specific marketing platforms, such as in-book programs/advertorials, online/digital campaigns and customized events
· Communicate marketing concepts and programs by writing proposals, presentations and one sheets
· Work directly with clients to execute integrated marketing programs including: advertorials, digital programs, sweepstakes, sampling, events, and more
· Manage day to day requests from sales staff
· Attend sales calls with sales staff to present programs
· Manage project budgets and timelines
· Oversee development of recaps/case studies post sale
· Develop relationship with third party organizations and vendors to enhance arsenal of integrated marketing offerings for category
· Participate in the development of BAZAAR platform programs
· Work with other Hearst titles to develop integrated, cross-brand concepts
Required Skills:
· Minimum 4+ years marketing experience
· Strong creative skills and experience in developing compelling integrated marketing programs; strong copywriting skills required
· An understanding of the editorial product and fashion industry are also highly recommended for this position.
· Highly pro-active and solution-oriented, a team player and self-starter
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple projects
· Strong presentation skills (verbal, written)
· Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of InDesign a plus.
