The primary purpose of this position is to lead the support of Mountain News Corp’s North American Sales team. In order to increase advertising revenue for MNC, this marketing manager will be in charge of producing big idea solutions for MNC’s advertising clients. This position will also require managing events and all facets of sales materials and research for the MNC sales team.

Digital, Mobile and Event Marketing Support

  • Actively participate, as member of the advisory team, in developing strategy, goals, and key performance metrics to build an integrated, high-growth property steeped in new media including online, mobile and social media
  • Work aggressively with the sales force to develop endemic and non-endemic strategic proposals, create key category sales presentations, write and produce all marketing and promotional materials
  • Create big-idea programs that can drive new and incremental revenue in all facets of the Mountain News platform: social media, mobile, digital, events and more
  • Manage ongoing expenses from client added- value programs, production expenses from client-based campaigns, creative executions, etc.
  • Increase digital advertising revenue by working with the ad operations team to ensure campaigns are well-executed and optimized for maximum dollars
  • Collaborate with Web Production and Ad Operations team to ensure timely delivery of campaigns, including campaign pacing reports, screenshots and reports
  • Participate in client and agency meetings, sales calls and creative brainstorming sessions that comprehensively explain marketing programs and creative concepts

Events and Special Projects

  • Oversee signature event programs Additional event management skills to contribute to the organization and execution of any additional consumer, trade and client entertaining events.
  • Execute any client-funded production (video/photography/design), development of sweepstakes (including legal components and fulfillment), development of microsites, QR code campaigns and more

Research

  • Collaborate with Research Partner to create compelling category research stories that enhance the sales departments efforts. Work with syndicated research and custom research to build presentations and sell sheets.
  • Develop and implement research-based marketing campaign(s) to strategically disseminate information among endemic client community and advertising community to generate awareness and buzz in the marketplace
  • Oversee competitive analysis (both for online and mobile) as it relates to competitive set along with general market sites, utilizing tools like Google Analytics, magazines/websites, facebook and twitter

Miscellaneous

  • Write dynamic copy for in-book advertorials, event invitations, online email blasts and advertising sell pieces
  • Maintain accurate work orders, status reports, budgets, and production schedules for all marketing projects
  • Responsible for delivering required materials accurately and in a timely manner so that all deadlines and budgets are met
  • Create and update sales materials including media kits (printed and online), various sell sheets and strategic sales presentations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-7 Years in a Marketing or Sales role with a North American Media Platform
  • Helpful but not mandatory
  • Driver’s License / Passport
  • Highly Efficient in Powerpoint, Indesign and Photoshop
  • English is primary and proficiency and any other languages helpful
  • Willing to travel for meetings and strong presentation skills
