Atlantic Media Strategies is a newly launched, fast-growing client-services business within Atlantic Media. A small, scrappy team with a start-up mentality, we are dedicated to building new-to-market, creative solutions for clients that carry the same distinguishing characteristics of Atlantic Media’s editorial brands. We help clients create their own media brands and content-driven marketing projects to reach and convene global opinion leaders around exciting, industry-leading ideas.

The Position

We are seeking a Creative Director with deep digital experience who is personally invested in delivering best-in-class solutions and who can thrive in a fast-paced and often unpredictable environment. Our ideal candidate is driven by aesthetic and obsessed with delivering design and ideas at the forefront of new media, but is an equally competent strategic thinker with outstanding project management skills and fluent in the fundamentals of marketing. In short, we want an innovative, tech-savvy, original thinker who can inspire our clients and our organization.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Help to establish creative vision and ideas for client projects at Atlantic Media Strategies across multiple platforms
  • Translate client goals into intuitive, compelling visual design and site architecture (in close collaboration with product team)
  • Build and manage team of in-house and part-time designers, including estimating budgets, overseeing design progress and ensuring that deadlines are met
  • Collaborate with clients as well as AMS product, technical and editorial team
  • Occasional design support for AMS sales and marketing collateral
  • Occasional work with the Atlantic Media corporate team on strategy and marketing collateral

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:

  • Accomplished art & design practitioner. Ability to work across a broad range of competences such as UX & Design, Digital Graphics/GUI, Branding Identity, Typography and Data Visualization
  • An eye for what’s next. Obsessed with the evolving media landscape, an innate desire to push boundaries and lead the market.
  • Stellar aesthetic.  Passion for bold, user-centric design and deep understanding of principles of site architecture
  • Solid understanding of web standards, web browser capabilities, and common web technologies (HTML, dHTML, Javascript UIs and CSS). Experience working on design of templates that integrate with a CMS
  • Grace under pressure. Strong organizational skills, ability to manage concurrent projects
  • Exceptional EQ. Excellent team player who can articulate creative vision to clients
  • Proficiency with Wireframing Software eg, Hotgloo, Balsamiq
  • Adaptable and willing to approach tasks with velocity and a high metabolism
  • Minimum 5 years web design experience
  • BA/BS degree. In lieu of degree, relevant skills or equivalent experience.
