We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Smithsonian’s digital team as a paid intern. The Digital Marketing and Production Intern will help to drive audience and create new content products for the Smithsonian’s Web sites.

 

Internship duties include:
*Work with the Audience/Product Development team to research, write and produce content for new marketing initiatives and content offerings.

*Assist with execution of marketing campaigns

*Help with social media activities and outreach to journalists and bloggers.

*Help with Search Engine Optimization keyword research and implementation.

*Help with photo research and web production – i.e., build slideshows, upload articles, and swap out creatives.

*Help research industry best practices and work with the Audience/Product Development team to develop new ideas for content offerings.

*Help with administration work in tracking invoices, etc.
Skills desired:
*Strong knowledge of and interest in the web and social media

*Experience with Photoshop, HTML and a Web content management system or web publishing tools is preferred.
*Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to handle several projects at once under deadline
*Fluency in MS Office application
*Experience with web publishing tools
*Recent graduate with a Bachelors or Masters Degree in a related field of study
Internship Details:
*12 months in duration – candidates must be able to commit to a full year
*40 hours a week
*Paid Internship
