Unpaid Graphic Design Opportunity with Fairchild Fashion Media/Art Department, Condé Nast, Fall 2013

The FFM art department is offering a highly competitive and educational internship in New York City.

The Graphic Design internship is an unpaid internship that will provide the student(s) selected with first-hand exposure to the fashion publishing industry and will supplement classroom studies.

An ideal FFM intern candidate is a sophomore, junior or senior at an accredited US college or university, eligible to receive academic credit or an academic letter of support for the internship, majoring or interested in arts and graphic design, with a strong interest in the multi-media industry, pursuing a graphic design and/or advertising degree with strong typography, communication and interpersonal skills.

He/She has a passion for design, is up-to-date with latest graphic design trends, is able to be a team player, has sharp attention for detail and consistency, and is self-driven. He or she should enjoy interning in a fast-paced environment and be eager to learn. 

The FFM intern will learn from experienced, talented professionals in the FFM art department.  Interns will receive real-world, hands-on experience from knowledgeable professionals.  Among other things, interns will shadow our designers during various creative processes, train under our design team’s supervision, work closely with our Creative Director  attending brainstorm meetings and assisting our team with design concepts

Interns will have the opportunity to attend seminars and events throughout the semester that will introduce them to various components of the publishing/media/fashion business.  Interns will also have the opportunity to discuss learning objectives with their mentors and other professionals throughout the internship.

Qualifications

In addition to the items discussed above, interns must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year accredited US college or university and eligible to receive academic credit or an academic letter of support for the internship.
  • Be available to participate in a 12 or 13 week internship starting Sept 3 for approximately 21-35 hours per week during the academic year.
