Associate Director, Digital Marketing Ideation – People November 14, 2014
Job Description
PEOPLE.com is currently looking for a highly creative and energetic Associate Director of Digital Marketing to lead the creative and proposal development process of ‘big idea’ platforms for our largest advertisers.
Ideal candidate will be a ‘big thinker’ and an ‘idea architect’ with a knack for simplifying complex ideas, storytelling and creating beautiful, clearly organized presentations. Clear understanding of digital media (units, capabilities, etc.) and how it’s sold is a must.
This position will report to the Executive Director of Digital Marketing and work closely with our editorial, legal, and technology teams throughout the development process for each idea.
Responsibilities
- ‘Big Idea’ Development – Generate uniquely creative and strategic marketing platforms that align with an advertiser’s objectives, leverage PEOPLE’s strengths, and provide value for our audience
- Presentation Development – Create show-stopping presentations that tell our brand story and creatively bring an idea (big or small) to life in a way that feels custom to each advertiser
- Client and Agency Meetings – Attend both agency and client meetings including media days, briefs, and pitches as needed. Participate in brainstorms and pitches with clients.
- Project Management – Communicate and collaborate with internal teams including sales, edit, legal, and technology to champion support and collaboration during the development of each idea
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience creating digital marketing programs at a major publisher
- Ability to lead the proposal development process from start to finish including brainstorms, collaborating with creative, edit, legal, technology, and planning teams
- Expertise in creating stellar presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint
- Strong knowledge of mobile, video, and social marketing capabilities and how each piece can work strategically in a program
- Experience executing a variety of digital marketing projects including ad units, sweepstakes, and websites
- Knowledge of current digital and social marketing vendors and capabilities
- Understanding of how to use research tools like @Plan and Comscore to position PEOPLE as the perfect partner
- Knowledge of standard performance metrics and online research studies including Dynamic Logic and Insight Express
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and prioritize deadlines appropriately is a must

- Knowledge in creating multiplatform marketing program
