Digital Solutions Sales Development Manager – RealSimple.com January 5, 2012

RealSimple.com is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, focused individual to assist with all aspects of our online sales and marketing efforts. The Sales Development Manager will develop and manage creative, production and sales support for the online advertising efforts within the Lifestyle Group of digital properties. We are looking for a self-starter, who can think creatively and strategically, can work collaboratively is a team player, and has very strong presentation and interpersonal skills. We are looking for someone who is highly detail oriented, can thrive in a deadline-driven environment and has familiarity with online advertising platforms and executions. This is an ideal position for a candidate with strong online advertising experience to grow within an exciting and dynamic organization. This position is based in New York.

Specific Responsibilities:

•Person would serve as primary liaison on multi-site deals across the Lifestyle Group in additional to specific RealSimple.com deals •Develop compelling sales proposals and presentations for growing digital business.
•Collaborate with the brand magazine’s marketing teams to create compelling integrated programs and to integrate online components into all client proposals.
•Work closely with both the digital sales and product teams to develop new and creative programs that deliver on client objectives for all online RFPs.
•Attend and present at digital agency clients where appropriate •Create and oversee production of online ad sales materials and collateral, incorporating research data where necessary.
•Lend direction with regard to development of rich media, contests and sweepstakes, and other non-standard advertising programs for clients.
•Work with digital management to develop and continually evolve more efficient and effective pricing models, and assist in maintaining the rate card, including production costs, for inventory across the sites.
•Serve as a category (e.g., CPG, Tech, Travel, Auto, etc) expert with a firm handle on the current competitive/strategic landscape to help fully inform the sales development process.
•Manage and update performance and pipeline reports.

Specific Attributes:
•Candidates must have at least 4+ years of successful sales, or account planning or management experience at a website- preferably on the display side of the business. Experience with a digital agency or media content site and the selling of cross-platform programs desirable.
•Must have strong creative marketing & ‘story-telling’ skills.
•Must have excellent communications and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills, and be an enthusiastic and collaborative team player.
•Should have a solid grasp of online inventory management and ad serving processes.
•Must have strong knowledge of various online advertising platforms, ad serving technologies and creative executions (Rich Media, DART, Atlas, etc) •Desire to work in fast-growth, entrepreneurial environment •Must possess a working knowledge of the online metrics and research tools used in the marketplace (i.e. MediaMetrix, Nielsen NetRatings, Omniture). Quantitative skills for analysis of this data also a plus.
•Strong time management and organizational skills are essential.
•Must be proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
•Photoshop skills are a plus

– Strong management and leadership skills including a collaborative approach to partnering with the sales and editorial teams, team members, advertising clients and vendors
– Exceptional proposal writing and presentation skills with extensive background generating multi-platform, integrated programs
– A comprehensive knowledge of various online advertising platforms, creative executions, and ad serving technologies

Town & Country Market Research Manager

· Must be proficient in market research analysis and creatively approach syndicated research data (MMR, PIB, ABC, VISTA, etc.) to integrate relevant insights and trends for ultimate use in the marketplace and internally by senior management

· Identify market trends to leverage new business
· Make sales calls and presentations to help position Town&Country favorably from a quantitative standpoint
· Oversee all aspects of Town&Country’s Reader Panel, including providing response results for all participating clients
· Handle day-to-day research requests from sales staff
