Responsibilities
Research
• Work closely with the management team to develop sales strategies for key areas of business
• Fulfill day to day syndicated research requests from sales staff. This includes finding best sales story, providing info for rfp’s, and writing sales points based on research
• Analyze and report all new syndicated research, PIB, and circulation information for Bazaar and competitive set
• Create and update reference materials and presentations

Specific Responsibilities:
• Develop compelling sales proposals and presentations for rapidly growing digital business. Work closely with the digital sales and product teams to develop new and creative programs that deliver on client objectives for all online RFPs – Including brainstorm participation, working with edit/product teams to assess program feasibility and delivery of digital portion of proposals.
• Work closely with both the RealSimple Sales Team and digital product team to develop new and creative programs that deliver on client objectives for all online RFPs.
• Collaborate with the RealSimple Magazine’s Integrated Marketing team to create compelling integrated programs (print, digital, and TV) and to integrate online components into all client proposals.
• Attend and present at digital agency clients where appropriate
• Create and oversee production of all online ad sales materials and collateral, incorporating research data where necessary.
• Lend direction with regard to development of rich media, contests and sweepstakes, and other non-standard advertising programs for clients. Be able to bid these projects out to external vendors for both creative and/or production.
• Work with RealSimple.com management to develop efficient and effective pricing models, and assist in maintaining the rate card, including production costs, for all inventory across the site.
• Manage and update performance and pipeline reports.

Candidate Attributes:
• Candidates must have at least 2-3+ years of successful sales, or account planning/management or marketing experience within the digital media space- preferably on the display side of the business. Experience with a digital agency or media content site and the selling of cross-platform programs desirable.
• Must have strong creative marketing & ‘story-telling’ skills.
• Must have strong client-facing presentation skills.
• Must have excellent communications and interpersonal skills, and be an enthusiastic team player.
• A solid grasp of online inventory management and ad serving processes is required.
• Must have strong knowledge of various online advertising platforms, ad serving technologies and creative executions (Rich Media, DART, Atlas, etc)
• Desire to work in fast-growth, entrepreneurial environment
• Must possess a working knowledge of the online metrics and research tools used in the marketplace (i.e. MediaMetrix, Nielsen NetRatings, Omniture). Quantitative skills for analysis of this data also a plus.
• Strong time management and organizational skills are essential.
• Must be proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Photoshop skills are a plus

• You will report to the Promotion Art Director and work with the marketing and sales staff at Seventeen Magazine (Hearst)
• Scanning and light retouching
• Archiving files
• Helping with the design of logos, digital flyers, advertorials, e-blasts, counter cards, posters, invites, misc. sales materials, etc.
• Researching and pulling stock images/images for “comps”
• Help with the production of any upcoming photo shoots

Required Qualifications/Skills:
• Students must be enrolled in College during the time of the internship and MUST receive college credit
