Marketing & Promotions Design Intern at NYLON Magazine

NYLON Magazine is looking for a Marketing Design Intern for the Fall 2010 semester. You must be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop CS3+, and all Microsoft Office Applications. Main responsibilities include marketing decks and proposals, mock-ups for marketing and advertising materials, occasional design work, and shadowing the Marketing and Promotions designer. Nylon is a small, fast-paced, fun environment so you’ll get experience with many different projects. You must be a strong designer with a keen eye for aesthetics and typography, as well as familiar with the NYLON publication. We’re looking for an excited intern who is a fast learner and self-motivated with a can-do attitude! Must be flexible, detail-oriented, hands-on, pro-active, and have good multi-tasking and time management skills.

All candidates should be currently enrolled in a College/University (or be a recent graduate) in an Art/Design/Studio Art program, and must have access to and bring their own laptop each day. Interns must be available to work at least 2-3 full days during the week. All internships are unpaid, can be for school credit, and can be for full or part-time. This is a New York, NY internship. Looking for a smart, creative, hard-working “idea person” to join our team as Senior Integrated Marketing Manager.

In this role, you will work with our nationwide advertising sales staff to find solutions-based ways to grow advertising revenue across various categories of business. Methods include: developing idea-selling opportunities; building rationales to convince new clients to advertise; extending the magazine’s list of merchandising offerings; developing edit-related advertising programs (across the appropriate magazines plus the web site); exploring cross-media advertising opportunities with other Time Inc. titles, CNN, etc.

In addition, each IMM serves as the resident expert on two or more advertising categories (such as finance and consumer electronics). The IMM uses research, partnerships, promotions and more to effectively engage advertisers in a particular category. IMM’s are encouraged to take their expertise into the marketplace by making calls with the ad sales staff.

Required skills include 5+ years of magazine marketing or agency experience, knowledge of print research (MRI, MMR, etc.) proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Excel and the Internet. Candidates must have a balance of strategic and creative ability, strong interpersonal skills and a track record of formulating and implementing idea-selling initiatives.

Rapidly growing digital property targeting women 18-54 is looking for a New York based Sales Director to attract new clients and drive ad sales revenue. The candidate will be responsible for originating and closing digital ad sales and sponsorships, including creating sales strategies and proposals for new accounts, with the goal of generating significant revenue.
The candidate will identify, develop, pitch, and execute a variety of ad sales initiatives, which will include leveraging video inventory via overlay/in-stream units, sponsored interactive applications, branded entertainment (video and written), along with selling display ads, skins, specific channels, and newsletters.

Familiarity with Ad Management and Planning tools, including Ad Servers, Reporting Tools and Ad Code/Tags is a plus.
Job functions/responsibilities include (but not limited to):
– Originate, manage and scale a sales pipeline sufficient for meeting revenue goals
– Cultivate and pitch prospects, draft proposals, negotiate terms, and manage the contracting, review, and signature process for insertion orders
– Develop and maintain a prospecting and targeting system and provide regular reporting to the CEO
– Formulate and implement innovative sponsorship packages that maximize revenue opportunities with brands and agencies
