Based in Jersey City, and working with the GARP Events team, the Manager, Event Operations will be responsible for the pre and post event logistical planning and operations management of GARP conventions, conferences, and events and will strive to achieve a consistently outstanding level of quality for GARP events through cost effective and strategic sourcing, negotiation and utilization of facilities, vendors and services.  The Manager, Events Operations will create and manage detailed pre and post event budgeting, accounts reconciliation, and liaison with sponsors and exhibitors, coordinate on-site operations including all set-up, logistical arrangements, audio-visual, staff and volunteers, and produce post event evaluation reports. Adept at multi-tasking and with a high degree of attention to detail, this role requires strong project management and communication skills – both written and verbal.  This position also requires close liaison with senior executive level speakers, panelists, sponsors, and delegates during events and will work closely with internal teams to ensure the success of each event.

Responsibilities:

Skills/ Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 2-4 years experience in digital advertising (Ad Operations, Inventory, Digital Media Planning,    Online  Publisher or Agency)
  • Basic excel skills is a must; knowledge of PowerPoint, Keynote and Drupal is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, detail oriented, ability to work in fast-paced environment,  proactive, resourceful and self motivated
  • Working knowledge of DFP, Omniture, comScore as well as third party ad-serving platforms (MediaMind, DFA, PointRoll, Atlas, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the terminology and mechanics of the digital industry, basic sales operations, RFP process and ad operations
