Westover Media founder, Kathi O’Neil, started her career in Manhattan with Hearst Magazines and The Hearst Corporation. As a native Oregonian, O’Neil and her husband returned to Portland in the early 90’s. There O’Neil started Westover Media, a full-service marketing firm whose partial list of clients include: Elle, In Style, Lucky, Tom’s of Maine, Harlequin, World of Grain, Men’s Health, People, Oprah, Gourmet, The New Yorker, Town and Country, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Conde Nast Traveler, W and Health, to name a few.O’Neil is also the founder of the City Picks Group (www.CityPicksGroup.com).A series of subscription-driven weekly newsletters delivered to subscribers each Friday via email.     SUMMARY:
    Conceptualize and develop strategic integrated marketing ad-based programs with Fortune 500 companies to increase brand awareness, revenue and profits. Manage and work collaboratively with creative staff and art department to generate mock-ups of integrated ideas and selling tools along with synergistic in-book advertorials, client brand targeted DTC mailers and annual media kits. Assist with creative execution and management of experiential branded events which include talent negotiation & logistics, venue acquisition, event production, hiring of staff, budget management and integration of sponsor benefits.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Lead, manage development and review all customized ad and event client proposals, with support team of three.

    • Proofread all promotional, event and in-book ads for approval before delivery to production.

    • Oversee the Marketing Department in the Creative Services, Meetings/Conventions, Merchandising.

    • Develop strong relationships with ad sales counterparts to anticipate and meet their marketing needs.

    • Develop knowledge of client’s business and research history of client’s previous advertising, marketing and entertainment programs.

    • Direct marketing team in the process of proposing, designing and fulfilling merchandising programs with Sales Managers and Directors, while staying within the allotted budget.

    • Work with Advertising Services, Finance and Accounting to review and oversee the Marketing Budget including staff costs and operation expenses.

    • Reconcile marketing expenses against the General Ledger on a monthly basis with finance department.

    • Ensure marketing staff processes all invoices related to the following marketing operation budgets in a timely manner.

    • Work with the research and creative departments to create and execute direct mail pieces, media kit, presentations, brochures, and materials.

    • Support events in key production positions related to special projects, promotions and campaigns.

    • Support VIBE Brand Extensions in the marketing of various properties.
