We are looking for a freelance graphic designer (independent/1099) to work on our digital and print design projects. We are looking to find someone who can take the Milkshake look and feel and expand it to create new graphical treatments and concepts within our brand guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in design and execution of projects by using our online project management platform (Basecamp)
  • Create new graphical assets and work with existing assets within the parameters of our brand’s current look and feel. Typical assignments include:
    • web banners
    • Facebook tabs/forms
    • web landing pages
    • web microsites
    • visual updates to existing web pages
    • mobile banners
    • website icons and buttons
    • downloadable PDFs
    • print creative such as tshirts, buttons, merchandising ideas

Required Experience & Skills

  • Inspired by Milkshake’s mission and willing to take risks with the design
  • Mastery in Adobe CS 4 or 5 Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience with web technologies:
    • HTML, Expression Engine, CSS a must
    • JQUERY, Javascript and PHP a bonus.
  • Strong sense of design, layout, typography and branding for the web
  • Detail oriented and well organized

    • Identify, hire and manage freelance writers
    • Edit articles and content on day to day basis
    • Seamlessly incorporate features highlighting advertisers
    • Manage key editorial relationships and contacts
    • Contributing writer to Milkshake KIDS
  • Manage entire production process
    • Ensure process runs on time and efficiently
    • Input all approved copy and images into Mail Chimp and CMS system

  • Manage sales cycle from start to finish: prospecting, identifying key contacts, RFP competition, media plans, generating insertion orders and coordinating all collateral

  • Present Milkshake to agencies and clients utilizing custom sales presentations
